Water With Blessings

Every Child Deserves Clean Water

Agape partnered with the nonprofit Water with Blessings to implement a project that trains local women to use a high-efficiency filtration system to bring clean water to many families in La Gonave.

Our local manager for the water filter program is Joseph Wilto. He helped Water with Blessings in a major effort placing water filters on La Gonave. The Water with Blessings staff trained and provided filters to 120 Water Women who live near our clinic.  

Since each Water Woman agrees to filter water for her family and three others, we estimate that filters are serving roughly 6,000 people with clean drinking water. Last year Wilto did extensive follow-up field surveys that show the vast majority of the filters are still in use and operating properly. 

Wilto also conducts a follow-up telephone survey and at the same time provide public health information to new Water Women.
